My first Noël

A quiet Christmas.

I’m not one for Santas, snowmen or flashing lights. Christmas is hot where I live, and much of the traditional iconography just doesn’t make much sense.

I was asked to create some simple Christmas designs, and really enjoyed using simple Algerian Eyelet stitches to add texture to these motifs. They really are so quick and easy to stitch, and can be made up into ornaments as well.

See my “No sewing machine finish” tutorial for instructions.

This design is available in my Etsy store in full-colour pdf. Merry Christmas!

After going back-and-forth on a couple of designs (and hitting the inevitable design roadblocks) we decided…
